  • What times should I book my flight?

    Arrival: You will want to arrive Wednesday between 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. MTM registration is typically from 9:30am to 12:30 pm. MTM orientation will follow. (Dress for overview). Expo Opening Ceremonies seating typically begins at 2:00pm on Wednesday (Schedule subject to change). If arriving early on Tuesday, optional training will take place between 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm in the MTM room. You also may register between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm Tuesday Evening.

    Departure: Try to get a flight that departs Sunday after 2:00 pm.

    Quick Tip: Make sure you bring a carry-on with clothes and makeup for the first day.

  • When should I book my hotel room?

    ASAP!

    There is a limited number of rooms blocked at the discounted rate for Model and Talent Expo attendees.

    Check in & Check out times:
    Check in time is 4:00 PM, although early arrivals will be accommodated if rooms are available. If rooms are not available, please check your luggage with a bellman and use this time to shop or check out the hotel property. Check out time is 12:00 PM.

    Reservations:
    A credit card will be REQUIRED for each room to hold the reservation! You must be 21 years or older to make a reservation. Rooms are available on a first come first serve basis and may sell out. Rates are based on room type: King rooms max 3 adults - $130/night; King with Sofa Sleeper max 4 adults - $140/night; Doubles Max 4 adults - $150/night. Advance Deposits of the first night's room and tax will be charged on all reservations. The cancellation deadline is 2 weeks prior to your arrival date; otherwise the advance deposit will not be refunded.

  • How should we get to the hotel once our flight arrives?

    There is a free Marriott Shuttle that picks up from DFW only: Please read instructions on the Transportation tab very carefully!

    If arriving from Love Field, Allen Limo is a great option. Please see instructions on the Transportation tab.

  • What should I expect when I arrive at the hotel?

    Our staff will be in the MTM Room of The Marriott to get you registered between 9:30 am and 12:30 pm Wednesday. MTM Orientation is at 1:00pm and the Expo Opening Ceremony is at 2:00 pm (Schedule subject to change). It is extremely important that you attend both. You will receive a packet which will contain the weekend's schedule, your participant badge, wristband, agency t-shirt and program book. We will have a brief orientation in our private MTM Ballroom immediately following registration. We will continue to have meetings each day to keep you informed.

  • Do I need to purchase a guest pass?

    A guest pass is required for any parent or guest to attend any auditions, seminars, or the awards ceremony.

    Parent/Guest passes are available for purchase when you check in for $100 (per person, CASH ONLY - NO credit cards or checks will be accepted). Passes may only be purchased at the Expo and not in advance. Children 3 and under are admitted for free.

  • What do I wear?

    You always want to look your best at all times, but not overdressed. When you arrive at the hotel on Thursday you will want to be comfortable. If you decide to wear jeans, they must be in good shape and well fitted. Females very light makeup entire weekend, no jewelry with the exception of a small earring.

    Participant Introduction:
    We will provide a black agency t-shirt which may be worn with participant's choice of jeans, shorts or skirt

    Cold Read Audition:
    Casual audition attire should be worn. Look your best and show your personality. You may wear jeans.

    Monologue Audition:
    Casual audition attire should be worn. Your top should be a solid medium color like pink, blue, green, orange, purple or lavender. DO NOT WEAR WHITE OR BLACK. Hair and make-up should be natural. Hair must be worn away from face.

    Two Person Scene Audition:
    Same as monologue audition.

    Swimsuit Audition(Ages 13 and older only - Director must approve for you to be in this audition)
    Females must wear a tasteful one or two-piece swimsuit. You must go barefoot. For males, swim trunks should be no longer than mid thigh (no jams or surfer pants). You will need a cover up or robe, however after the audition you must change as no robes or bathing suits will allowed in the hotel public areas. You must be approved by your Director to participate in this audition.

    Sportswear Audition:
    This audition is open to anyone who is 12 and under as well as any participant of any age who is not approved for swimsuit audition. Participants ages 4 to 12 may wear anything from playclothes or sports attire of their choice. Examples for Kids include nice shorts outfit, skirt outfit and sporty top. Participants 13 and older may wear sportswear outfit of their choice. Examples for Female Adults include capris, nice shorts, shirt or casual pantsuit. Examples for Males include nice shorts, golf shirt, casual dress pants, sporty shirt.

    Runway Audition:
    Participants 13 and older must wear a solid black outfit of their choice. No formals or evening gowns. Females, please keep in mind that the stage is elevated, so do not wear extremely short skirts. Children 12 and under may wear any color.

    Dance Audition:
    Participants are encouraged to wear a costume appropriate to the song or the character as long as the costume is in good taste. Must be approved by your Director to participate in this Audition.

    Singer/Songwriter Audition:
    Participants are encouraged to wear an outfit which is appropriate to the song. Must be approved by your Director to participate in this Audition.

    One on One and Call Backs
    Participant's choice, but current trends are best. You will want to have comfortable shoes for standing. If you are 13 or older, wear a swimsuit under your clothes in the event that a scout requests to take a picture. No makeup should be worn and hair should be pulled back or down from face. Participant may not bring a parent or other party, unless participant is 12 or under, in which case he/she may bring one parent or other party.

    Dance Party:
    You can choose to be a glamorous movie star, rock star or super model. Go all out!

    Meet and Greet:
    This takes place on Thursday immediately following the Overview. Dress for the red carpet...this is the Oscars After Party. Parents and guests are encouraged to dress as well.

    Awards Ceremony:
    Dress similar to what would be worn for a wedding or special occasion. No Jeans or Flip-Flops.

  • What auditions can parents or guests watch?

    All auditions, subject to changes at the discretion of the Agents.

  • What script do I use for the two-person scene audition?

    You may find an approved expo script on our scripts page. You will want to have this memorized prior to attending the Expo. Please bring two copies of the script. You will give a copy to your scene partner.

  • Do I need a monologue? How long should it be?

    You only need a monologue if you are planning to compete in this category. You may choose your own, or make up your own. Please check with your local bookstore or library for a monologue book. It should be no more than 60 seconds. You will want to memorize it prior to attending the Expo. Please bring two copies of the script. You will give one to your acting coach.

  • Do I need a portfolio book?

    You will need a book only if you are interested in print work. You will want to have 4 to 6 photos enlarged for your book. The correct size for these photos should be 9x12. We suggest a matte finish. You must order books at the time of initial registration. Cost is $40 (cash only- no checks or credit cards accepted) for 9" X 12". They will be delivered the day of registration at the Expo.

  • Do I need headshots or composite cards?

    Models need to bring 50 composite cards.

    Actors need to bring 50 head shots with resume attached to back. Please have your resume printed on 8 X 10 paper.

    If you are interested in both modeling and acting, bring both.

  • Who can print my headshots, comp cards and/or 9" X 12" prints?

  • What should dancers and singers know about bringing a music CD?

    You must provide your own music on your own device for preliminary auditions(Cellphone or MP3), If advancing on to the finals a CD will be needed. CDs must be marked with the participants name and contestant number and only have one song on the CD (the one song used in the performance). Please bring 2-3 extra copies to make sure you have backups. Make sure CD track is able to play on ALL music systems and is not saved as a MP3 only format.
